Version 2026-01

This document describes how the platform is built and what it does with data. It is not legal advice, and it must be reviewed by counsel before any production deployment.

What we store

The account details you provide (name, email address, password hash), the profile information you choose to publish, and records of your activity on the platform such as connections, posts and searches. Passwords are hashed with Argon2id and are never recoverable.

Who can see it

You choose, per profile: public, connections only, institution only, or private. The setting is enforced in the database query, so a profile you have made private does not appear in the directory, in search results, in another member's recommendations, or in anything an AI model is shown.

You can also stay on the platform while leaving the public directory entirely, using the “Appear in the directory and search” switch in Settings.

Contact details are never public, even on a public profile. They are visible to your connections only.

AI and your data

AI features retrieve only data you are already permitted to see; the access check runs before retrieval, not after. Private organisation and project material is never sent to a third-party model without explicit consent.

Anything a model extracts from a document you upload is a suggestion. It is not added to your profile, indexed, or shown to anyone until you approve it.

We record the volume and cost of AI usage. We do not store the prompts or the completions.

Your rights

You can export your data, correct it, or delete your account. Deletion removes your profile from every public surface immediately; content that other members have interacted with is retained in anonymised form so conversations do not become unreadable.

Sessions

Signing in sets one strictly-scoped, HTTP-only cookie used solely to keep you signed in. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies are set. You can revoke a device session at any time, and changing your password signs out every device.
